My work focuses primarily on bringing a bright and colorful mood to the viewer. Varying from daily issues that parent's constantly worry about (such as children's healthy nutrition in their lunches at school, to your child being just a little "different") to children who's creative minds are as innocent and hugely imaginative. It is important to me to help children discover their wildest dreams through my illustrations because they have played a huge role when I was younger, such as the amazing artist/writer Maurice Sendak of "Where The Wild Things Are".
Varying from different types of mediums, my illustrations are more recently created with the Adobe programs such as Photoshop, and Illustrator. By using digital tools to render my illustrations, I am allowed more freedom to express bolder and brighter colors, while keeping the concept of the idea strong.
My inspirations hugely vary from many different artists but the one who most stands out in my life is Hayao Miyazaki, creator and artist of "Spirited Away", "My Neighbor Totoro", "Howl's Moving Castle", and much more! His storytelling has kept me dreaming on and on for years of imaginary worlds that fill the hearts of many with hope, and certainty!
Ultimately, my goal in my illustrations is to bring those types of dreams and inspirations into the hearts of those who see them. I hope my illustrations imprint a special place in their memories, and bring a good nostalgia of their childhoods, or bring new memories for those just starting out in the world!
